At the beginning of the book I found it difficult to read, that is "how could this book apply to me", yet when I continued to read it, I found that it did apply to me, helping me to see that 3 marriages, being raised by someone I trusted, touching me as a child only once, but I have carried that with me forever, always looking for another man that could erase this but instead choosing men that not physically abusing me but mentally, something that is just as bad and debilitating. Yes, I saw myself and some very close to me that hid their abuse but was raised in a time that leaving the abuser was not an option. I just wish my cousen, my dear sister, and all the women that suffer in silence, I believe it just might have given them courage to make a stand. Thank you Daleen for writing this book, you have done a service to more women/men than you will ever know.
